The Dreams of Trees
When Summer lies upon the world, and in a noon of gold, Beneath the roof of sleeping leaves the dreams of trees unfold;
When woodland halls are green and cool, and wind is in the West, Come back to me! Come back to me, and say my land is best!
—J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers
This piece is in homage to the first summer of youth spent reading The Lord of the Rings. It is then we begin to listen for the voice of the trees.
Original landscape painting in oil on linen board. Varnished for protection. Artwork is 4” x 6”. Framed piece is 5 1/8” x 7 1/8”. Handmade wooden frame in light walnut finish. Package comes with one 3M Command Brand narrow picture hanging strip for immediate hanging. Signed front and back.
Please note: I attempt to capture the true colors of each piece but both the ethereal quality and the varnish make it difficult to photograph. Slight discrepancies in color may occur, such as those resulting from screen calibration. Original artwork is non-returnable so please make a thoughtful choice.
If you wish to purchase the piece without the frame, please let me know and you will be reimbursed $40.
*Please allow up to 5 business days for frame finishing and packaging before leaving the studio.
